: If a henna artist applies black henna containing ppd to a person,
the artist could be theoretically arrested for negligent endangerment
or assault. Why? PPD black henna causes bodily harm and injury.
(See link below) Causing bodily harm and injury to another is assault.
If the client has gotten blistered and scarred by the PPD black henna,
the artist could be arrested on assault charges. The prosecuting
attourney would make some decisions about how the charges would shape
up. Criminal negligence, intent to endanger, grievous bodily harm
.... that sort of laundry list. In a criminal case, the prosecution
would prove by the MD's reports that ppd had been used (and the
artist's plea of ignorance or waivers signed would mean precisely
"JACK"). The artist could face paying all that client's med bills AND
damages ...and maybe do some time.
: If a festival owner knows someone is using PPD black henna at his
festival and someone is harmed, the owner could be held liable for
negligence in a civil siut and made to pay damages for pain and
suffering.

: If you use black henna, you better make certain you can PROVE to a
court toxicologist that your henna is SAFE and has NO PPD of any sort.
You might need to turn your kit over to the police one day as evidence
in an assault case. Your liver, kidneys and children would appreciate
the tests, too. Losing your health is even less fun than losing your
