Here are some of my favorite recipes, I am getting hungry just writing these out.
The banana recipe is heavenly.....
Flavia, Henna Caravan

Spiced Pecans
For starters, you can never go wrong with pecans, easy finger food to eat while you henna and keep up your strength.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 TBSP ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 pound pecans

Combine sugar, cinnamon and salt and set aside
Beat egg white and add pecans and stir
Add sugar mixture and mix and spread in single layer on baking sheet.
Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes cool in single layer on waxed paper

Calendula Rice
This is a family favorite - it is great for any meal
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • Saute the onion and garlic in the oil and add
  • 1 1/2 cups brown rice and saute 5 minutes
  • Add 1 cup organic calendula petals
  • 1 T. rosemary
  • 3 1/2 cups chicken or veggie broth
Simmer 45 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.

Sweet Flower Confetti Butter
This beautiful butter is pretty and very tasty, the flowers are full of good stuff for you.
  • 1 lb unsweetened butter
  • 1 1/2 cups pink, red  purple organic flowers (roses , pansies)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp honey
  • 1/1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • Cut room temperature butter into chunks
  • Put flowers into food processor and pulse briefly to chop flowers, add
  • butter then quickly add honey and lemon and zest.
  • Shape, chill or freeze and serve with fresh bread.
Moroccan Rose Salad with Citrus and Walnuts
  • 6 C greens
  • 2 C edible roses petals (yellow and pink)
  • 1 C mint leaves
  • 30 slices of citrus (oranges or blood oranges)
  • 1/2 c fresh orange juice
  • 1 T orange zesst
  • 3 T lemon juice
  • 3 T sugar 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 3 T canola oil 1 C toasted walnuts
Combine greens with roses and mint and toss cover and chill
Combine orange juice, zest, lemon juice, sugar , cinnamon and oil.(set
aside)
Peel and lice oranges place on the greens and to top with nuts.
Drizzle orange juice over the top just before szerving.
Serve with raspberry or cinnamon  vinagrette

Vinaigrette for the Moroccan Rose Salad

1/3 cup vinegar(raspberry or cinnamon or orange or ?)
3 T fresh orange juice
1T orange and lemon zest
1 T grated fresh ginger
2/3 cup canola oil
2 t sugar
1/2 t salt   blend and serve over the rose petal salad

Red Bananas with Cardamom
This dish is so tasty, you may find yourself licking the pan,  The mix of lime and sugar and cardamom are unbelievable taste sensations with the banana and the ice cream.
  • 4 red bananas or 2 large green
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • Juice of one fresh lime (2 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom seed (removed from pods)groudn
  • Lots of vanilla ice cream
Peel the bananas and cut lengthwise.
Melt butter in skiller over med heat, add brown sugar, cook till disolved, stirring all the time
Add bananas and remaining ingredients (except ice cream) and simmer 3-5 minutes.
Divide into 4 portions, saving the largest for yourself.
