To terp or not to terp, that is the question

Hi all,

Ok Andy and i are preparing for our henna season this year. We are
updating all our books and we've just bought a 10f x 19t marquee
style tent (we will use part as our stall and are intending to live
in the rest. ROLL ON SPRING....

Ok now for the crunch.. Last year we used non terped paste and sealed
with nuskin, latex and talc. This is all well and good, the colour is
as to be expected for non terped paste and it can last for 2+ weeks;
but there are serious pitfalls. Approx 30% of our time is taken by
sealing designs, sorry to be business like but that is 30%
of 'wasted' non henna-ing time. Also the latex can be painfull to
remove.

This year we are thinking about using terped paste and not having to
seal therefor gaining that 30% however i am concerned that people
would prefare the duration of stain as opposed to darkness.

My personal opinion is that if i paid out 10 for a nice tribal i
would want it to last and not be too concerned about the colour - but
that is me.

I would appreciate input from other artists (especially UK) in what
thier clients opinion were when they swapped longgevity for a darker
stain.

Any help is appreciated

Samantha + Andy
