Alissa, in your last posting in response to my terped henna question,
you asked that I post the results I got using your recipe, so here
goes! :-)

I mixed up a batch of henna containing:
-- 2 messy heaped up spoons of henna powder
-- 4 mL of EO
-- lemon juice

I covered it with Saran wrap, wrapped the whole shebang in a tea
towel, and put it in a cabinet. Average temperature of the room: 75
degrees.

I let that "perk" for 24 hours. It was really ready - thin brown
liquid had separated out. That's usually how I can tell if a batch
is "good" to go.

The designs were a nice dark pumpkin when the paste first came off,
and over the next 24 hours darkened to a rich chestnut.

Now...

24 hours after I applied the first designs, I applied some more
designs, so now the paste is 48 hours old.

They were a slightly darker pumpkin when the paste was first removed.

12 hours after removal of paste, they're a nice chestnut!

So, it seems that the older the paste gets, the quicker it develops.
Interesting and neat!

I'm going to try again at the 72-hour mark and see what happens then.

I know that went on really long, but if anyone's interested, I
thought it was pretty nifty. :-)

Blessed be!
Jenna
