Terped henna will fade faster than unterped, all other factors being
equal, so the color being the same now is not unusual. Terped henna
usually fades faster than this, so I'd attribute its staying power to
being on the foot. As to the uneven fade, it will naturally wear
faster where a shoe rubs or stay longer where there is a buildup of
callus.

: Hello...
: About 4 weeks ago my family came to visit. I did a smallish henna
: design on my mom's foot with unterped henna. It worked great and is
: STILL visible. Two weeks ago, I visited them and did another design
: but used terped (with cajeput) henna, same size, same spot, but
other
: foot. This design started out much darker than the older one. At
this
: point, the two designs are the same color....and she says that the
: newer one is fading faster than the older one. By the way, they
were
: both left on over night.
:
: It seems to me that the terped henna stains darker, but fades more
: unevenly. So, most of my design is gone after 1.5 - 2 weeks, but
some
: spots stay around longer. Has anyone else seen this?
:
: I use less cajeput than most people, i think. Has anyone else had
: this problem and could it be attributed to using too little oil?
:
: Also, the henna powder that I used was also changed between the
two.
: The newer design had slightly older henna....would this be the more
: likely problem?
:
: Thanks....I'm still learning (a lot!)...
