Hello,

I have seen many women in the bath houses (hamam) in Morocco cover
themselves with henna and let it sit for a few minutes and rinse it
off. It makes for a lovely glow, they already had lovely dark skin,
me however I skip that part, Im so pale I would most likely turn
orange!!!! But I have always thought henna would make a cool self
tanner!

: This may be somewhat of an odd question. I've seen comments a
couple
: places about how henna works as a sun-block and people can tan/burn
: around a pattern with the pattern eventually fading to pale. I was
: wondering if it's ever been intentionally used as a long-duration
: sun-block (or would the stain or fading phase just be too gross)?
I
: have a very fair complexion and am going to be camping on the beech
: for 2 weeks later this summer. I was planning on bringing strong
: waterproof sun-block but never completely trust it to protect me.
: Could a 'henna bath' provide lasting protection? I wonder how dark
: the stain would have to be to get how much protection. I don't
think
: I'm quite brave enough to experiment with whole-body henna, but
: long-term reliable sun protection would certainly be nice. :) Any
: insights?
