Westermarck describes that technique being done in Morocco .... over a
hundred years ago. He seemed quite intrigued with it ... brief mention
that the designs were very complex, and done red and black together.
I can look up the reference if you want ... I think he mentions
precisely which group of people were doing it. I think it was in
"Marriage Ceremonies" rather than "Ritual and Belief" ...
