night, nevertheless I had to wait a good 36-48 hours for my colour to
completely develop. In another post I mentioned my plummy dark
fingertips- those same fingertips went black by the next day and
still have black on them. (Amazing my co-worker who is used to my
dark dark brown) I'd give it another full day (and try your darndest
to stay away from water/soap/cleanser/AHAs et cetera.
The henna I used was Castle Arts which I was REALLY REALLY impressed
: I applied the terped henna mix to my hand this morning. I kept the
: paste on for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours while holding my hand
: over a pot of steaming water and keeping myself warm drinking hot
: The steam kept the henna very moist and it stayed on well. After
: steaming the henna dried quickly and came off. I steamed the
: skin again twice. Through out the day I kept warm and made sure my
: hand was warm. The problem is the henna has not darkened!
: It's terped!
: The stain is about the same color the usual stain is. It isn't any
: darker. The pattern is on the back of my left hand.
: I mixed most of a box of henna with 2 to 3 ml of Cajeput, 1 ml of
: Ravensara, 1 capful of Tea Tree. All of the oils smelled really
: strong when added to the paste. The paste itself had set for 28-29
: hours before the terps. After the terps the paste had set around 48
: hours. I'm so disapointed :( I wanted the terps to work.
: My hands were free of oil and lotion. Freshly washed again to make
: I did not seal or wrap the henna.
: I did not add sugar or even dap lemon on. I let the steam keep it
: The paste fell off afterwards on its on.
: I can't figure where I went wrong. My henna powder is fresh and
: And the terps seem to be of a good quality. Once poured out of the
: bottle it was very strong.
