One formula for harquus is pitch, ash, and ground spices. There are
many household mixes for harquus. Some are just lampblack and oil, to
make a sort of greesepaint. The most long-lasting harquuses are made
of something like pitch or pine sap or frankincense very slightly
melted, mixed with lampblack, ash, and something or other else to make
it fragrant.
