From what I know of using natural dyes (and it is very little) you
will need to use a mordant on the fabric to get better adhesion of
the dye. Also henna adheres to proteins better than cellulose in
cotton so you would have to find cloth made of wool or silk rather
then cotton. The green could be the chlorophyll of the henna plant
or more likely it is the green dye that the henna suppliers add to
the henna powder to make it appear fresher.
