Ditto on both accounts. ;)

I'll take a stab at putting the "trick" into words. Assuming you are
using a square/rectangle of material: once you've got your
plastic/mylar rolled into a rough conical shape, you can tighten the
tip by tugging at the extra material near the tip. Tug at it and then
roll the cone between your fingers, then repeat. When you get the
hang of it, you can roll the tip until there is no hole whatsoever.
This allows you complete flexibility to cut off that tip and create
whatever size opening you'd like.
