I had a similar gig recently .... a nail salon that decided they could
make money off of "trendimehndi" and hired me to come "show them how
so they could introduce mehndi to NE Ohio. Yes, I did the gig,
because money fuels research and all, but I made sure they had a
course packet and all the info I could wedge in, so perhaps... perhaps
... they at least wouldn't mess anyone over with PPD and have some
appreciation for the larger view.

Moeny's not a bad thing. I personally find it very useful, and like
to have a bit it from time to time. But why get into the money rut
when there are so many other lovely ruts to explore! There are many
very valid reasons to keep henna at a household level, just letting it
provide a burst of pocket change from time to time. It seems to have
been mostly at that level for the last 10 centuries. In terms of
basic economics of supply, demand, labor and cost ... it's works very
nicely at that level.

My nightmare is the day when the FDA totally legalizes it and Revlon
and Maybelline suck up the entire world's supply and market the
bejeezis of it, and totally wring the life out of it! I would SOOOOO
much rather see it stay at the folk art/religious holiday/family
celebration/education level.
