Re: Nail polish?

I remember someone in the past saying something about a procedure
like this in which fingernail polish was used. There must be a
number of ways the color is obtained.
Unfortunately, it looks in the pictures that the rest of the design
is done with the black stuff. One of the sites is actually selling
it. I can imagine that similar results will be obtained with natural
pure henna powder too though.
I haven't seen anyone in this area using this combination of the
multiple colors and henna. Of course that means nothing. Folks
around here are just beginning to recognize henna stains period.
I was wondering if anyone else was seeing this trend showing up on
the streets on the hands of people.
The addition of these bright and vibrant colors and the use of the
gold and silver reminds me so much of some Indian cloth. Prior to
this technique the only colors I had seen was the red used in a two
color mehndi design.
These sites seem to be defining mehndi much broader or differently
since some of the designs did not seem to have any henna
stains...unless I just couldn't see it in the pictures.
My receipt of an email about it makes me think it is something
popular and well known. Though how to "do" it must not be as well
What is most troubling to me about it is the pics and information
about something that may be growing fast in popularity is contained
on sites with so many pics of black stains. I wish there were a site
I could refer the person who emailed me to that perhaps had the color
added to designs done with pure and natural henna. Since she is
interested in the color (actually silver), I imagine an alternative
pic with the silver and brown stains would also have been welcomed.
