Lauren, Your work has improved so much ..... That is one impressive
peice. Im glad the cones are working so well for you. those pics
are wonderful and Im so glad you came away from sirius so inspired.
I must say that i did too. Its amazing how when you get around
others it brings out the desire to keep progressing. Your boys are
bueatiful!!! you must be very proud of all your creations lol the
boys as well as the new henna. Im very proud of you.
Aloha,
Heather

: You all may have noticed I'm not posting any pictures since Sirius
: NYC. I had thought I was pretty good, impressing the locals
anyway,
: then when I saw the designs the other "pros" were knocking out, I
was
: almost ashamed I had been charging for it. After getting home and
: looking at my old pictures again, I realized I wasn't as bad as I
had
: thought at the time, but I did sit down to think about why I wasn't
: better. I especially thought about Heather's design. I'd never
: before seen something so intricate and gorgeous, not to mention she
: covered up a design I thought couldn't be done. I thought a lot
: about this. I've been doing henna on myself for ten years and
people
: who have been doing it for half as long are doing stuff that's
hugely
: better than me. I knew I would have to make a change, but I didn't
: know what until just now.
: On a whim, I rolled a cone like Heather showed us at Sirius NYC and
: started doodling. I had a decent design on the back of my hand,
but
: I was going to be working at an Indian restaurant and I needed to
be
: impressive, which the back of the hand wasn't to people who are
used
: to bridal mehndi. WOW. The result was the picture posted above.
: This is far and away the best work I've ever done. I'm remembering
: that I started out using a rolled cone and doing lovely work, of
: course nothing like this! I took the cones to an event and did
some
: terrific designs that I know would not have turned out so well done
: by any other means. I finally feel like I'm doing the art I always
: knew I could. The link below has both the pictures from Sirius
that
: inspired me and some other pics I took this weekend. There's also
a
: picture of Max and Quinn, for those of you who wanted to see them.
: Thank you so much to everyone here who has been such a great help
and
: inspiration!! Also thanks to Alissa for her help with the page.
: Lauren
