Is it hot right now where you live? The first thing I would suspect
in this case is that the paste was too warm for too long and too much
of the dye came out before you got it on your skin. Especially when
the powder is known to be excellent, I suspect environmental issues
first. I'd expect your stain to darken almost fully within a day or
so otherwise. Also condider personal issues- stress is a stain
killer!

: The Kimia I mixed up Monday (powder, lemon juice, sugar)was finally
: ready to use yesterday so I did a whole hand design so I could see
how
: it reacts to both sides of my hand. I steamed and L/S'ed then
wrapped
: for the overnight wait. I steamed again before removing the paste
:
: I was up two hours early this morning because I was so excited to
see
: how the Kimia did. I was kind of disappointed.
:
: The color on the palm was pretty good but nothing spectacular,
pretty
: much the same that I get with the rest of the hennas I've tried.
The
: back of my hand was just bearly visible.
:
: They have darkened a bit through the day, the palm is that dark
orange
: that you get when you first take the paste off a really good stain.
: The back got a little bit darker, but looks like a stain that's more
: on it's way out than on it's way up. This is very annoying because
: it's one of the best patterns I've ever done. :(
:
: So my question is this, is Kimia as slow to darken as it is to
release
: it's dye?
