my
: worst nemesis is cropping up like crazy... little "holiday marks",
: or, tiny white spots where I haven't filled in the henna properly.
:
: My usual procedure is to do the up-down up-down, "z" kind of fill
: lines. Does anyone have any hints on maybe a better way to do
this?

I use the regular paste to outline a filled area, then go back with a
slightly wetter paste to fill. It seems to spread more evenly
without the color mottling I get otherwise.
I've also recently been using multiple cones and it's worked out
great. One (rolled) for fine lines, a carrot bag with a 001 pastry
tip for either bolder designs or heavy accents in the fine-line
designs, and a carrot bag with a 01 tip for accents in bolder
patterns, to apply really thick patterns for lower backs or in some
of the Native AMerican designs, and for fill-in. Grabbing the next
size larger cone has made my life much simpler and easier.
