Hi everyone,

I did my first henna designs today and the results weren't as good as
I had hoped. My designs came out bright orange instead of that deep-
red/brown that I was hoping for.

I bought Jamilla Henna from Castle Arts. It was olive green in
color, so I am assuming it was fresh. I mixed about 1 tablespoon of
henna with some juice from a fresh lemon (filtered through a coffee
filter)to make a thick paste. I let that sit in a covered plastic
container overnight on my kitchen counter.

The next day, I add some hot tea to the paste to make it thinner and
then applied the paste to my skin. I let the paste dry and kept it
on for about 3 hours. I applied it to my ankle, hand, and putside
wrist and the results were bright orange.

I would like to know what I can do for the next time to make my
stains come out darker in color. Did I miss an ingredient or step?

Thanks for the help!
Sharon
