i thought you meant to mix up henna with hot water, as some people do
with super-fresh henna! Of course heat releases the tannins in henna;
it also speeds up their decay, it would seem.
Diva mix is tea boiled with limes, cloves, sugar, and really whatever
else...tamarind, red wine, garlic, fenugreek...
Gilded Lilies used to use it before we really knew about terps, though
Kree was adding eucalyptus and clove to the paste as well. I'm not
sure if they still use it, but I found that new york water was too
chlorinated, and was creating poor results.
Just goes to show it's all a matter of testing.
