My horrible first day henna-ing at the tattoo parlor :-(

... it was dreadful. The line art I'd done was fine, but my henna
was far too thick and I didn't realize it until I starting doing a
tribal on this one poor guy. It sat on his skin like mashed
potatoes, wouldn't smoothe out, wouldn't be coaxed into a point no
matter what I did, and wouldn't be forced into straight lines - it
bulged and oozed into lumps. It was the sorriest-looking henna I've
ever done since I *started* and it happened when it mattered the most
that I do the best job I've ever done. The parlor owner was highly
disapproving and I could see his opinion of me going down by some
serious notches. I nearly cried myself to sleep last night. I'm
still miserable this morning and I can't stop thinking about it. I
know, "poor me"... there are so many people out there to whom this
would be the most minor, pettifogging problem that it's barely worth
contemplating. It's just that I was so overjoyed by this job and
then to come crashing down so hard...

I went home and remixed my henna to thin it down, and I'm going back
tonight to hang out for a while. I'm being stubborn, even though
deep down I'm scared.

Sigh... well, that's my story. I had to vent, and here's the best
place I know. Thanks for listening.

Jenna
