: ... it was dreadful. The line art I'd done was fine, but my henna
: was far too thick and I didn't realize it until I starting doing a
: tribal on this one poor guy. It sat on his skin like mashed
: potatoes, wouldn't smoothe out, wouldn't be coaxed into a point no
: matter what I did, and wouldn't be forced into straight lines - it
: bulged and oozed into lumps. It was the sorriest-looking henna
: ever done since I *started* and it happened when it mattered the
: that I do the best job I've ever done. The parlor owner was highly

: disapproving and I could see his opinion of me going down by some
: serious notches. I nearly cried myself to sleep last night. I'm
: still miserable this morning and I can't stop thinking about it. I
: know, "poor me"... there are so many people out there to whom this
: would be the most minor, pettifogging problem that it's barely
: contemplating. It's just that I was so overjoyed by this job and
: then to come crashing down so hard...
: I went home and remixed my henna to thin it down, and I'm going
: tonight to hang out for a while. I'm being stubborn, even though
: deep down I'm scared.
: Sigh... well, that's my story. I had to vent, and here's the best
: place I know. Thanks for listening.

Don't Despair!! We have ALL (or maybe it's just us two) had our own
HORRIBLE henna experiences. For the first year or so I had to use
premade paste on people because I was so hit or miss on getting my
paste right. It's also vety daunting when you have that circle of
strangers crowded around you, watching you, saying "Create
something...we will watch" EVERYTHING in life is a mix of good and
bad, but just remember, with henna the good is SOOOO good! Keep on
Truckin' baby, get back on that Henna Horse tonite and show them what
you can do!!!!
