I've tried the Castle Arts "black" henna, and it doesn't fade to
purple. However, PPD does! So i wanted to make sure that we didn't
become further confused... something must have gotten reveresed
somewhere along the way.
The safe black preparation stays at relatively ok jet color for about
2 days, then fades much like ink or food coloring. in kind of a
splotchy way. The stain is really not very stable... hard rubbing and
much soap will fade it quickly, and it begins to look odd whe it's on
it's last legs.

: Must have been a great soccer game! :)
: It is possible she's using something like Castle Arts sells as
black,
: the food coloring sort. I've heard that it's lovely jet for a
couple
: days then fades through purple rather than flake and fade as does
: black and real henna. Ask her if hers goes purple to find out.
