It's very possible that the drumhead is synthetic, in which case the
henna won't stain it. They're making very realistic looking, feeling,
and sounding skins now that are not what they appear to be.
If the drum is Egyptian though (i'm assuming it's a doumbek?) it may
have a Nile Sturgeon head- fishskin. I'm not sure if fishskin would
stain well or not. No reason for it not to, bot you never know.
