I bought some cellophane - the
: clear patterned type that florists use to wrap flowers. It's
: absolutly brilliant and gives the same tiny lines as mylar yet it is
: not as flimsy to work with (my personal opinion) this is definatly my
: favorite stuff to use. - Try it and see

all the while I thought that mylar is the cellophine I worked with.
Now I realised the difference. I've been using this material for my
cone after trying out different weight of plastics and it gives superb
lines. So if you can't find mylar, give this clear patterned
cellophine a try. To me it is a hard to beat material for cone making.
The Sirius cone that I used was not this cellophine, (ran out of it
while boarding the plane), it was some sort of metallic foil which
gives a good line but too stiff to squeeze comfortably.
