Henna is a natural translucent dye, therefore it can only add to the
hair's natural color, not change it. If your hair is very light
blonde, henna will probably turn it neon orange-red. If your hair is
medium blonde, it will be a darker red, and so on. If your hair is
dark, henna will not lighten it.
On the other hand, henna does give fabulous shine and strength to
hair. Even if you can't get the strawberry blonde, consider using it
for those effects. Just don't use it if you've had any chemical
processes done in the last couple years, or don't use it without
doing a test on your hairbrush leavings first. Chemical dyes and
perms and henna don't play well together and you may get sewage color
and straw texture.
