Lavendar Faire

I'm working a booth, by myself, at an upcoming Lavendar Faire this
Sunday (with invites out there to any local Forum lurkers to attend
and say hi) and boy howdy I am just WONDERING what this event will be
like...?

It's at the State Fairgrounds, and it's expected to be very highly
trafficked, perhaps several thousand. The Lavendar Faire 2002 is the
first time this show will be in Albuquerque. For years it was at
Chimayo and garnered large crowds, even at that remote location that
is hours away from Santa Fe and Albuq. for folks to get to.

Doesn't matter... lavendar enthusiasts WANT this festival!

The organizers, relatives of friends of ours, hired me on an hourly
basis as an entertainer for the event. So, of course I'm tinkering my
books down to designs that can be done quickly, and EASILY.

Other entertainers have been hired as well, guitar players, clowns,
all kinds of things. I already plan to have sign up sheets to help
with crowd control, and knowing there are other things for people to
do while they wait is way cool.

The paste will be a scrumptous lavendar and cajeput blend that I'm
already looking forward to mixing up. The hosts also provided me with
their own lavendar essential oil, from two different strains grown on
their own lavendar fields, and I can't wait until I mix up my paste,
yummmmm.

But, I have to say, I'm nervous. I am booth bitch-less for a
potentially hugely trafficked event, and I'm not in a vendor type
situation (I originally sought out vendoring, but the vendor costs
were out of my range, so that's when they offered to "hire" me as an
entertainer instead).

Ay me...

I'll be praying. And saying the "what henna is, how it works, how
long it lasts" rant in my sleep after all the people who will come up
and ask. I plan on making some sheets to explain all this and tape to
the table, but still you know how people don't read (!).

Oi vay, we will see if I have a Lavendar tale to tell. My booth
sounds lovely, table and chairs provided, and set up in the shade
near the faux lavendar fields they are setting up in an elaborate
recreation on the grounds there.

Anyhow, I'm nervous... and thought to post to relieve anxiety :)
