comprehend this idea of "I can't draw", and yet I hear that so
many times. I guess this sentence means something more like
"I can't draw well" or "I can't draw so that it looks exactly like what
I am drawing." Those all have very different meanings and it
shows how much we emphasize the "real" in art instead of the
art in the real. Someone here put it well, telling someone that if
they can write their name they can draw...after all drawing is just
moving a writing instrument on some kind of surface, it's just
making marks. And making these markings look like what you
intend DOES take practice. Some people are born with a certain
amount of talent and still those people practice to become good.
Even with transfers, you will still have to make the same motions
with your henna tool...you will still have to apply henna onto skin,
an action which requires practice whether or not you are tracing
something. After 4+ years doing henna I am still improving my
skills, the basic stuff of creating lines with my henna tool.
