: It's rather ironic that I don't care for teaching henna to others,
: since my other trade besides henna is teaching art to children. I
: guess it makes me feel like the henna is trivialized into an hour
: long lesson??

I have that feeling too, and I get very sad when people just want to
know "how to" and not "why to". I'll give away "techniques" info
...... because I feel like everyone should have that for free.
Whenever possible, I much prefer to tell people about the history,
traditions, huge mass of 9000 years of live thats interbound with
henna. People often tell you they only want to know "how to" but if
you can catch them long enough, start on "why to" and watch their eyes
light up and the amazement begin! A bod-mod novelty wears off fast,
but once you get them thirsting for the complex wonderful history and
traditions ..... that's a lifetime obsession that is more facinating
every day!

Similarly ... you can find out "how" to make love in 30 sec video
clip. At the most. But "why" to make love ..... all the intricacies
and relationships, in all the variants through different cultures
......... a thousand lifetimes wouldn't be enough to learn WHY people
make love!
