Yeah, i am helping out at the store some too, besides just hennaing.
Answering the phone, talking to customers, helping out the artists...
dunno who mops the floor, but it ain't me! ;-)
And yes, they want to see me in a tattooing apprenticeship, as soon
as i am 18. Wheeeeee!

: Writing up a formal letter is an excellent idea. Along with that
you
: might need a portfolio of your work (traditional and
: modern/contemporary)and it never does damage to wear your work
too.
: And don't worry about being rude or informal by just marching in
: there and talking to the owner and handing him/her a proposal,
: because all of the other artists/piercers probably just marched in
: too.
:
: In my experience at the parlour, there is also a certain
expectation
: of chores too. Like mopping the floor, helping with customers etc
: etc. Each store will handle things differently, but in the three
: that i've worked at there was always a common expectation for
: chipping in. And you can usually learn how to tattoo and pierce
free
: of an apprentiship fee, so it's a pretty good deal.
:
: Good luck, fill us in when you get the job ;)
