How does this deodorant/ transfer paper thing work?

I had someone ask me to do logos. Definitely not my thing, but they
are friends so I thought I'd give it a try. I went to check out my
competition (the only other lady in my area selling mehndi.) She's
using black henna, but is telling people that it's not too black,
it's actually between red and black henna. What the fuck?!!!
Anyways, some people were telling me about all these flash designs
that she can do, and I was feeling intimidated like she must be a
really great artist or something. But she does the transfer paper/
deodorant trick. I was thinking of doing that for these crappy
logos that I have to do. The thing is, she is using black henna, so
the stain covers the ball-point pen marks. How is that going to
look under natural henna? Would a hectograph pencil be the thing
for me to use, and where do I get one? Is there a certain type of
deodorant that is better to use? Is the deodorant going to prevent
the henna from penetrating the skin? Can I print out logos from the
computer onto transfer paper and use those? If I did the designs
well ahead of time, do they still work, or does the ink need to be
fresh on the paper?
Thanks for any tips.
Erika
