Wrists will never take stain as dark as palms and fingers, because the
skin is thinner and not keratinized (fancy word for dry, thick,
callous and calloused). Some people have parts of their hands that
stain poorly because they oil their hair, their body, or do something
else that gets oil on their hands and changes the porosity and dryness
of that skin. Some people have parts of their hands that stain
unusually well because there is more abrasion there from whatever it
is that they do from one day to the next.
