Given that most henna powders seem to be nothing more than ground
henna leaves or stems, and aren't known to contain carcinogens, I
would have to think that smoking henna would be "better" than smoking
tobacco, especially commercially-produced tobacco, pipe tobacco, or
cigarettes. But I agree with Maureen that it's entirely possible to
inhale the particulates into one's lungs unless caution was exercised
against this possibility. Of course, smoke IS particulates, just fine
particulates. But inhaling visible henna particles would be a bigger
irritant for the lungs and upper bronchial passages to deal with. As
with everything similar, though, it's probably not a big deal unless
it becomes a habit. :)
