: : oh and CCJ "Folk remedies are often inneffective and can be
: : dangerous". - so are MANY modern alopathic remedies - all things
: : have there pros and cons :) - Lelia
: Testable medicine still does it's damage, and many "testable
medicines" are hardly tested long enough for long term effects to be
validated. - yes modern medicine is amazing, miraclous, and life
safing. Yes life before the industrial revolution sucked with out the
magick white coat man. but the health of our ancestors was dependant
upon MANY factors, food supply, cotamination, dirty medical supplies,
water, and yes of course, care and love. Yes some of the
physiomedicalists and ecletic remedies were amazingly harmful (like
elemental metals suppplementation and bledding. However given
how "primtive" medicine supposdly was; it's a miracle that people did
get better, And somehow avoided half the "western diseases" we've
created for ourselves.
I of course agree with the rest; that touch and care are part of
healing. But I stand affirmed that there is much wisdom in our
ancestors methods of health. I could write pages upon pages on the
subject with as many tests and scientic blah, blah as you want. But
I'm truely tired of defending this position, to each there
wonderfully unique own. :) Lelia
