For the following reasons:

It was too labor-intensive, expensive, didn't seem to make any
difference to the stain, and 4 times out of 5 I ruined a cooking pot
leaving it simmering.
Do you find a tea brew makes any difference?
I find Ojai Body Arts henna very expensive and haven't seen Jamila
since several summers ago when it was "the" thing. But I may start
checking out some other hennaes...

: Hi Anne,
:
: I was reading your post below about not being able to use your Diva
: Mix anymore because of the heavily-chlorinated NYC water. Would
: bottled water work? That's what I do, and my brew (pretty much the
: same thing as Diva mix) has worked MUCH better since I started with
: that. It's not free like tap water but it's not expensive either.
:
: I too go through periods where henna just does NOT work on me. I
: always seem to get a decent stain with either Ojai Body Arts or
: Jamila henna, even through those times. Maybe experimenting with
: different powders is the answer. I hope this helps!
:
: :)
: Good luck,
