I understand completely. I've had it with people saying those exact
things to me for years. Ask them why their mothers didn't teach them
how to behave in polite society. I also like what the others wrote.
I suppose it depends on if they are being ugly ( usually the case) or
if they are truely worried you have hurt yourself (the case often
with grocery store checkers and pharmacists)

: Hi all....
: I know I'm basically a Lurker around here so I hope everyone will
: still accommodate my little rant.
: Henna is the thing in my life that quiets my soul. When everything
: else is making life difficult I can always pull out my henna. I
: and enjoy the smell of the oils, relax and listen to the quiet of
: being alone with it.
: Lately life has been pretty loud and rowdy. Nothing that I can't
: handle but.... The last set of designs I did on my hand and foot
: have been generating quite a reaction. My friends and my husband
: think it's a decent Moroccan design. So it's not the quality of
: actual design. I'm just getting the good old reaction of "What did
: you do to your hand!". So I explain and then I get "Why would you
: want to do that?!?". I also got, "It looks like a truck ran over
: your foot!!". <sigh> I know the people who made these comments
: kings of tact (not!) and I shouldn't take it personally. But with
: everything that's been going on lately at work and home it would be
: nice if people didn't have to be so harsh to my saving grace.
: Anyone have a snappy come back for those people with such a flair
: diplomacy? I know they're not really worth the effort. But just
: once I'd like to throw Karma to the wind and say something!
: Thanks, Michele
