help tone it down.
Washing will help wear off the color and heavy use of conditioner
helps the hair not hold onto color too. Maybe even oil your hair. At
least it will be good for your hair. Put some oil on it while it is
dry(olive, jojoba, coconut are all ones I have heard of people using)
just put your hair in a ponytail and leave it on for hours(add heat
if your want). To wash out add shampoo while your hair is still dry
and then add the water. You may have to wash twice.

Don't even bother with manic panic. I keep my hair conditioned with
henna(the color doesn't really change but I get some highlights).
Last year I decided to go hot pink. I left that stuff on for 30
minutes with heat and it was gone in 3 days. No trace of it after a
week.
