I think that's a good price. I have seen new saris on ebay for that
price, but they are not silk, they must be some type of blend. They
do have a nice sari border, but mostly they are not very wide
borders. I was thining of buying a couple of those saris to make
pillow covers or table runners,
New saris of good quality seem to start at $65 and go up to $275.
My problem is that I hate to buy the sari, petticoat and choli
separately. It seems like it would be really hard to get
coordinating colors if you purchased them separately, unless you
bought neutral colors.
I just went to Wal Mart of all places, and they have tons of clothes
that are India inspired right now. I grabbed a couple of pairs of
capri pants that have ebroidery and beads at the bottom. I figured
I could still move around well enough in these and look a little
ethnic. The price was right too! I also picked up a skirt that
looks a bit like a tribal bellydance skirt for under $15.
