Welcome aboard, Craig.

In my personal opinion, there is no book that can even come close to
rivaling the quantity and quality of information contained on
Catherine Cartwright Jones' website(s). (I put one URL in the link
field, below). I learned more by reading Catherine's sites and this
website than I ever did reading books. But I did find one book to be
particularly useful because it contains several hundred Arabic and
Indian patterns. It's called "Traditional Mehndi Designs" and the
author is Dorine Van Den Beukel. I borrowed it from my local library,
but I know they sell it at amazon.com and other booksellers.
