If you want only the palm side dipped start by turning your hand over
so the back of your hand faces up. Then you can see how far you can
go with the paste without it being visible from the back of your
hand. You may want to take a cone or tooth pick and trace a faint
line where you want the henna to stop.
You'll probably want to stop before you reach the curve where the
nail begins.
Turn your hand over so that your palm is up. Then fill in between the
lines. That's how I do it.
It's also good to keep finger nails polished with a color so the
henna doesn't get on your nails.

I'll post a pic next time I
: ... so where do you stop? I'm experimenting with doing full
: fingertips, back and front, and I'm just sort of pantsing
the "line"
: of demarcation where the henna stops if they only want the full
: coverage on one side or another. But is there a proper place to
: cease henna placement? Best of all is if you want a "true" full
: finger cap, but some folks don't want that - say, their design's on
: the palm or the front only.
