Indigo needs quite a bit of coaxing to dye skin any serious color.
Even with extended applications of fresh indigo powder, i've managed
only to achieve a light gunmetal grey color. The color you are
describing doesn't sound anything like what i've managed... do you
think maybe there's some other coloring agent in it? Watch the fade
down, and if it's gone in a week it's not penetrating too deeply,
which rules out any ppd's.

: On a strange side note, now I'm seriously doubting this is what
they
: are doing but I recently discovered my oil supplier was
: selling 'Henna (black, chestnut, blonde and so forth)' I looked
into
: it and got some information on it and discovered that it actually
: wasn't henna at all that was being labled as 'Henna Black' but
actual
: Indigo powder. Stained my fingers a lovely violet blue on complete
: accident when I was looking over the sample they sent me.... looked
: just like henna too. I'm going to write them at some point in the
: near future and suggest that they might want to put up a sign to
ward
: off the bad juju of black henna by labeling their indigo as
henna....
:
: Out of curiosity.....Anyone have any information on using Indigo
for
: Mehndi?
