But my indigo doesn't act the same way.
When you mix it with water, does it smell like frozen peas? that's
the closest thing i can compare the smell of indigo to.
I'll do some tests and let you know.

: Oh I'm pretty sure it was Indigo. The group that I purchase from
is
: pretty careful about listing all ingredients.... Which actually
made
: me more curious as they listed the different blends of henna they
: were using to make the Blond Henna and Chestnut Henna and so
forth...
: Black apparently is pure indigo according to their info, though I'm
: probably going to ask for some more background on it....
:
: I didn't mix it with anything, the fine powder just happened to
have
: leaked out of the bag into the containing bag and when I looked
down
: my fingers were stained that funky blue-violet you get when you
spill
: water on black ink and get that blue/purple wash. The stuff washed
: off after about three washings but it was something of a startle
for
: me to get in a sample of henna and look up and find my fingers
: blue.... unfortunately on the coloring side it was pretty pale
except
: for the creases where the dust must have settled while I was
: unpacking.
:
: Let me know if you can make any sense of it. It does have some
twigs
: and such in it, was poking at it last night through a filter, but
it
: just doesn't quite seem or smell like henna though it does have a
: rather distinctive smell.
