I think that it's because people have dubbed it a henna "tattoo", or
a temporary tattoo, and that's where the attitude stems from. I'm
not familiar with the history of this attitude, if it's a modern
attitude or if it's been a longstanding one, but that's my best shot
at it. Also many people believe that henna is a totally modern thing
that has been created to imitate a tat so therefore if it's inferior
to the tat. The majority of people that i've met at festivals and
who come in the parlour are unaware of the longstanding history of
henna and view it sorta like a veggie burger to a burger made of real
cow, something that has been made to replicate the "real thing" to
accomodate those who don't want the "real thing"
