: I've been doing various Faires for the last couple years and I've
: recently noticed a trend. People are astounded by my prices being
: low. Apparently people at other faires are charging almost twice
: what I do. I've met other henna artists at local street fairs and
: they seem to be about the same price range.
: Who is doing henna at New England Renn Faires and why are they
: charging so much? and should I raise my prices closer to theirs?

Like I said before,in CT the high cost of living and these people
in CT are willing to pay to get what they want.Lower Fairfield County
is perfect example of "high cost of everything" NYC is cheaper than
here(I grew up in NYC I know) Further north and rural areas yo ucan
charge less, New Haven is a trendy college town charge more; if mom&
dad can send them to yale they CAN afford henna. You are in business
there is nothing wrong with making a wee profit on henna if it what
you love to do. Captialism sometimes does work.. I'm not saying we
will get rich. But you don't want to loose money either. I would
charge a bit higher certain faires and less in others. If the booth
price is high then charge higher for the henna, if booth is low
priced than charge a bit less. other than that good luck
