in the henna before. I used to freeze it in tuperware containers and
defrost it on the counter. The oils would separate out and I'd just
mix it back in.
I've found that it will affect the staining power and it's my opinion
that it's not the act of freezing and refreezing that's the problem.
The problem I encountered was that defrosting containers of henna
took a better part of a whole day on the counter and constant
freezing and thawing would cause the paste to become stale because it
was basically just sitting out. I take the container of paste out at
8PM on Thursday night and it's half thawed by 9PM on Friday night.
Well the thawed paste is just sort of sitting out brewing.
To solve this I now freeze my henna in small useable quantities. I
pre-fill carrot bags, roll and tie the tops and plop them all into a
tupperware container. I do a sort of V05 hot oil sort of thing when I
want to defrost it. I fill a glass with hot water, put the carrot bag
in and in less than 10 minutes I have warm henna paste. If I have any
left over I put some scotch tape on the cut tip and put it back into
