Exactly what I was thinking! I did an art camp this summer, with kids
ranging from 7 - 12yrs. At the end of the week I brought Henna and
ended up doing I think six or seven of Liisa's dragon design and one
of the cats. The kids really like her style and it's fairly easy.
They also like simple fairies, dragonflies, butterflies, flowery
mandalas, and I did one tribal on an older boy. Be prepared to do a
lot of fixes and touch ups cause at that age they aren't quite aware
of where their bodies are in relation to other people or furniture,
if ya know what I mean, they tend to smear stuff a lot and will come
running back begging you to redo it. They also are anxious to pick it
off as soon as it's dry so be sure to tell them not to leave henna
flakes all over the carpet!
I bet I have done most of my Henna work on children (I have three
and am surrounded by kids much of the time). I learned to keep the
designs fairly simple because of the smear factor and they truly are
happy with just about anything you do. Not as picky as grown ups can
sometimes be.
Well, good luck and have fun, they will definately think you are the
coolest person!
Let us know how it goes.
