It's true there are as many recipes as there are henna artists, or
so it seems. In my henna practice I like to keep my recipe
simple in order to be more efficient. I like mixing henna but if the
recipe gets too complicated and takes forever to prepare it
begins to feel like a chore. I keep my recipe to henna powder,
lemon juice, sugar (to keep the paste from cracking as it dries)
and mustard oil (to keep the paste flowing smoothly)...then I terp
it and that's where I play witch doctor a little bit, using different
oils for different aromatherapeutic benefits, tho not to any great
extreme. My favorite is cajeput and I will often use it alone to terp
my paste...plus it keeps things simple.

I like to know that there are other recipes and ingredients out
there if I want to use them, but I don't like to complicate my life by
having to rely on them. I would rather spend my time on the
designs.
