: asks, "Why are you wearing that thing on your head?" (refering to
my
: bindi).

Don't you love the "Is that real? or is it glued there?" Yes, and
yes...it's a bindi and it's glued on there! Or the "Is that
pierced??" commment....tho these days......people are piercing the
strangest things!

: dick/ass/etc ("Do you really think that's acceptable?"),

I always say "that'll be 80 bucks and if you think you can keep it
hard for an hour and not touch it, AND be prepared to parade around
(put event name here) while it dries, OR if you want all the fur on
your butt ripped out when you have to pick out the paste, power to
you pal!"
Course, this has shut up the idiots I've had so far.....I may need
more comebacks though.

and the ever-
: present "mine's real" discussion. For that I give the withering
look,
: show them my ink tattoo and say "yeah, that's great, mine is too."
: They usually quit preening about how tuff they are then.

I do the same! I tell them my left leg is tattooed from knee to hip
(which it is) and then show them my eyes (my eyeliner is tattooed on)
and then I tell them that though I also love tat work, it is apples
and ham sandwiches...so different from each other it's not even
funny. Only recently has mehndi become the 'ouchless tattoo'. At
this point they actually seem really interested and respect it for
what it is. Have I just been real lucky or does everyone find this?

:: I'll recover once I
: :get some down time. Right now, I don't even want to think about
: :hennaeing myself.

Maybe hennaeing yourself would be better? You won't ask you stooopid
questions! :-)

:
:: what an a=incredible artist you are, and do you do real ones too?"

THIS is a question to everyone.........I get this "You should
do 'real' ones all the time." I then go into the 'apples and ham
sandwiches' explanation, but they still ask about pushing ink.
Anyone have a good nice pat answer to this without going into a long
discussion??

Hang in there Alissa!! You'll get over the 'hump'!!!
