Hi Scooter,

It isn't about a dare or the backbone meeting the belly button or the
knee. It is just a matter of color mixing. Red and green are
complementary colors. As are blue/orange and yellow/purple. When
mixing these complementary colors together what you get is a brown or
a brownish/grey color...not black. The mixing of those complements
is a way to get to browns and greys but not to blacks. Try that out
with water colors, oils, acrylics and prove it for yourself. Not my
discovery...pure color theory...been around, studied and known for a
long long time.
