I forgot to mention that I did add sugar...not nearly as much as
last time, and probably too little; just a couple of teaspoons. The
henna I used ( Mumtaz...has anybody heard of this stuff? ) has a
very distinctive scent, I tried closing my eyes and sniffing it to
describe it, but it defies description. It's pleasant, slightly
musky, a little woodsy...it really is a lovely deep green. I paid
$1.50 for 100 grams of it, and since I wasn't sure how much I'd need
I bought three boxes ( I know, I could've hennaed half of Florida
with that much!! I just had this fantasy of myself hennaeing a bunch
of friends and myself, effortlessly drawing out beautiful designs
while our boyfriends fetched us drinks and we lazed about for
hours..>sigh< ). It looks like good henna, #*&%#&!! I will
definetely try the tissue trick next time, too...it could've
released without me knowing it, I was so afraid to even open the bag
to check before I suspected the time was up ( oxygenaphobia ).
Thanks for the help, everyone...I feel like a dork for asking the
same questions I'm sure everyone else asks. It's just frustrating
when you do follow tips and recipes and read up and it still doesn't
happen for you. Maybe this is some kind of henna initiation?:)
In any case, I can and will use this henna for practice.
Catherine, I want to thank you for the offer, please do send some (
I sent an email )! I want to try again with the tissue trick one
more time though, it may just be the timing. Forward march...:)
