Stocking straining or a trip through a Fred - O - Matic will clear out
plant scrap, plant debris, and grit, but if there's talc, kaolin or
somthing like that ... that would go on through and become a grand
pain in the neck.

This comparison survey would tell you which hennaes you'll never need
to sieve, and which you should always sieve. The ones with low levels
of plant scrap and debris, say 10 particles in a 1/2" field, are
pretty clean. Those are the ones that give 1 tbsp of trash per 100g
sifted.
