More of the traditiosn have to do with darkness in stain rather than
longevity. Anyway, in several comparison tests I did this summer and
last spring, the terped and non terped hennaes applied on the same
hand on the same day vanished on precisely the same day. The terped
places did NOT vanish earlier or later. They vanished exactly the
same day, and had penetrated to the same depth as non terped paste.
The percieved quick demise of terped stains may be from factors other
than the terps.
There are traditions that the man and woman should stay together
getting to know each other until the henna is gone (hubby doesn't take
off on a business trip or such) and the woman does no housework until
the henna is gone.
